Xerox Saudi Arabia Participates in Riyadh Sustainability Initiative; Plants 200 Trees<\/h1>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Riyadh, KSA, 9 December 2018:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0Xerox Saudi Arabia employees joined more than 1,000 volunteers for the second annual Tashgeer sustainability initiative. With a goal to make the city of Riyadh greener, the team helped plant 200 trees along King Khaled and King Salman roads. A total of 8,000 trees were planted in one day.<\/p>\n

The \u201cMaking Riyadh Greener\u201d initiative \u2013 launched by the Riyadh Development Authority in October last year \u2013 is aimed at increasing the afforestation rate in Riyadh city, doubling the number of trees, and taking care of them. The green campaign is part of the Riyadh Environmental Program, which seeks to improve the city’s environment and preserve its natural resources by planting 300,000 trees by 2030.<\/p>\n

\u201cMore than 41,000 seedlings have been planted since the campaign\u2019s inception in 2017 with more than 1,400 volunteers participating on an individual basis or as a part of private sector companies\u2019 corporate social responsibility drives,\u201d said Fahad Abdulaziz, Riyadh Tashgeer Campaign Leader.\u00a0 \u201cThis is the second successful year for this campaign and it\u2019s going to continue for years to come as we strive to raise awareness around the importance of sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMaking Riyadh a greener city is a valuable initiative that we, as an environmentally responsible brand, wholeheartedly support and strongly believe in. We are proud to be part of this campaign while making our humble contribution to preserving the city\u2019s ecological balance for our citizens, city visitors and the generations to come,\u201d said Sahar Hashbal, Marketing Executive, Xerox.<\/p>\n

This green campaign is the part of the nationwide initiative that goes in line with the KSA Vision 2030\u2019s pillar focused on creating a vibrant society and achieving environmental sustainability. Riyadh city is expanding at an exponential rate and the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, along with the multiple non-governmental organizations, are eager to increase public awareness about the positive impact of sustainable and renewable sources of energy and the importance of preserving the environment.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
